A regular contributor

It looks like I’ll be writing a couple of times this semester for the school newspaper. I’m a “contributor”, which means I can write in up to half of the issues (which is more than enough given the amount of time it takes me to write and edit a single article). I had another one this week:

Enjoy!

Good thoughts. I’ve never been too aware of gun laws, as guns were never really a part of my life. One time I shot a rifle for target practice on a farm in Iowa, but that’s the closest I’ve ever been to a real gun. I found out a couple of weeks ago that a friend of mine who lives in the hood in MPLS owns a handgun, permit and all. I’ve driven by a gun shop a number of times, although I no longer live in that area of the cities. I like your idea of background checks. It seems very reasonable. I had no idea about gun shows, but I think it’s concerning that there is a loophole that big, especially considering how easy it is to attend one (I once attended a Pet Expo for work and there was a gun show next door).
